SIX STATIONS, FROM INQUIRY TO BROTHERHOOD
I
Make Inquiry
Write to the Secretary, or speak privately with a Brother you know. There is no obligation and no commitment. Most candidates begin with supper and conversation at the Lodge.
II
Petition
Complete and sign a petition, attested by two recommending Brethren. The petition is read before the Lodge at its next stated communication and lies over for one month.
III
Investigation
A committee of three Brethren visits with you privately. Their purpose is not examination but acquaintance. They bring the Lodge their honest report.
IV
The Ballot
At the following stated communication, the Brethren ballot upon your petition. The ballot must be unanimous and is always secret.
V
The Three Degrees
Upon favorable ballot you are received in due form. The degrees of Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason follow over several months, as you prepare for each.
VI
The Brother
You are now a Master Mason, raised into the brotherhood for life, wherever in the world you may travel.
